Iowa touchtennis Open Doubles

The Iowa touchtennis Open is back for a second year, this time as a 200 point event! There will be mixed singles and doubles draws with a guarantee of two matches in each division. Any combination of players (mixed or single-gender teams) is allowed in doubles. As an official event, participants will receive world rankings points.

Below is a general description of both events. This will be the same description for each event. Please make sure you are registering for the correct event. The deadline for registering is Wednesday, October 7 at noon central time.

Singles Entry Fee and Prize Money

Singles will have a $25 entry fee and prize money will be as follows:

Champion: $60

Runner-up: $30

Semi-finalists: $10

Doubles Entry Fee and Prize Money

Doubles will have a $30 entry fee per team ($15 per individual) and prize money will be as follows:

Champion team: $40

Runner-up team: $20

Semi-final teams: $10

Format

All singles and doubles matches will be best of 3 sets.

Official touchtennis balls will be used

Rackets

21-inch rackets are required. Any 21-inch racket can be used, including junior rackets purchased at department stores. The tournament will have a limited number of 21-inch rackets available.

Schedule of play

Singles will being at 9:30 am. Doubles will begin around 11:30 am.

Player/spectator amenities

Players will have access to the shelter house.
