Sarah is a full time mother of two, for whom the touchtennis tour is a family affair. Her background is in equestrianism and she trained horses and young riders, and rode competitively until her own small children took over her time and energy. When - encouraged by his grandfather (who played into his 80's) - her son started playing tennis in primary school, Sarah saw a way to satisfy her fiercely competitive nature by taking up the game herself. Despite her lack of talent, worn out knees and the pressures of family life, tennis became an obsession that very few understood. She combined her love of the game with that of working with children and qualified as a level two coach, although current family commitments mean that coaching has been put on the back burner. Sarah's introduction to touchtennis came in 2013 when the British weather forced a Christmas tournament she was playing on to the local badminton courts at the last minute. She was under the spell of her new addiction from that day onwards, and by spring the following year she had opened "The Corn Barn" on the farm where she lives, running weekly pay and play sessions for adults and coaching for juniors on three courts. In 2015 Sarah signed a sponsorship deal with Wilson Tennis, who have continued to support her this season, and she is also an ambassador for TrionZ. Despite her commitment and enthusiasm, Sarah has yet to take any major titles, or indeed minor ones. In fact, it seems she is ruined increasingly often by new talent on the scene (and can often be found rocking in corners, nursing sore knees and aching muscles for days after tournaments) - but her relentless appearances have recently rewarded her with the ladies #1 spot and a personal best open singles ranking of #28.
